Traditional East Asian Medicine
Actions
Traditional East Asian Medicine which is more commonly referred to as Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), has a history of practice that dates back some 3000 years. Originating in China, the influence of this medicine was carried along the ancient trading routes of the Silk Road, as far afield as India, Europe and Persia.

The traditions and techniques of this medicine have been used, adapted and improved upon across many centuries in China, Japan, Korea, and more recently in the West. This is ancient medicine, and yet it continues to amaze, inform and resonate with modern perspectives and approaches.

As a model of healthcare, TEAM views and treats a person and their condition as a united whole. It acknowledges the relationship between the body, mind, emotions and external environments. The human body is considered a small universe with a set of complete and complex interconnected systems, which each have a role in ensuring the healthy dynamics of the body.

TEAM aims to support the body in the prevention of disease and is also very effective at re-establishing the flow and balance of the body for recovery of health and wellbeing. It does this by using an elegant and effective diagnostic framework that ensures individualised diagnosis and treatment prescriptions.

Individualised Diagnosis is used prior to every treatment and involves gentle, unique methods to determine the pattern of disharmony affecting the body. These methods include:
~ Observation and Palpation ~ Questioning ~ Feeling the Pulse ~
~ Inspecting the Tongue ~
