Traditional East Asian Medicine
About me
I began my journey with acupuncture and East Asian Medicine when I lived and worked in Japan in the late nineties. During the four years I spent there, I travelled extensively around the mainland of Honshu, as well as the islands off its coast and learnt to appreciate life and living in a different way. I continued my studies of the martial art and philosophy of Aikido, which enabled me to put into practice my understanding of ki (qi).

While training, I suffered a painful and debilitating injury to my spine, which was treated successfully with acupuncture by Dr Yamada in Nagoya. I became fascinated by how and why this non-surgical and painless intervention had worked so well.

I was so impressed with the degree of relief and recovery that I returned to Australia in 2000 to begin university studies in Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at UTS. It was at this time, I had the great fortune to be mentored by a leading Sydney practitioner and renowned teacher. With continued study I have come to appreciate the blend of philosophy, science and art integral to the practice of the East Asian medical traditions of acupuncture, yoga, meditation and herbal formulation.
